Card Kingdom: Ballard's eat-shop-play empire

Card Kingdom sits proudly in Ballard, one of the largest Magic: The Gathering singles sellers in the world. Founded by brothers John and Damon Morris, with CEO James Buckley now at the helm, the company has served Magic players for over 20 years. Their singles selection spans the game's entire history, along with graded cards, booster boxes, and every supply you could need. And the company keeps growing: this past August, the founders and CEO partnered with ZMC to take the business further, with union contracts renewed. Find them at 5105 Leary Ave NW in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood.

Eat, shop, and play under one roof

But Card Kingdom is not just a shop. It is a full Northwest trading card game experience. The Ballard store also covers Pokémon, Warhammer miniatures, and tabletop RPGs, and it shares the building with sister brand Mox Boarding House. That makes the whole block an eat-shop-play destination: house-made food, 12 rotating taps, a full bar, and a free borrowable board-game library. Private rooms like the Red Room are ready for big groups and special events.

Always something on the calendar

The daily in-store calendar is almost too much to list. Magic drafts, Pokémon League challenges, miniatures nights, and learn-to-play sessions run all the time, and the Ballard store even hosted a Riftbound Summoner's Skirmish this October. It is an entire trading card game world on one Ballard block.

Loved by mail, loved in person

Online buyers rave about the lightning-fast shipping and carefully packed orders, and the 4.8-star rating backs it up. But locals know the Ballard spot as something more: a family-friendly eat-shop-play hangout where the staff happily recommend games and the tables stay full. It is the rare store that is both a global singles empire and a neighborhood living room.

In the Northwest, we take our trading card games very seriously. We believe we have the best TCG region in the world, and Card Kingdom is proof of that. So the next time you are in Ballard, stop by and see what the fuss is about.
