Sunday is the rare day when the whole geek map of Seattle lines up in one afternoon. GeekGirlCon holds its final day downtown in the morning, and our Gundam Sunday crowd takes over the tables at the shop at 1 PM. If you plan it right, you can spend the morning among panels and cosplay, then spend the afternoon shuffling cards with people who will remember your name next week. That is a very good Sunday.

Stop one: GeekGirlCon, downtown in the morning

GeekGirlCon runs Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Seattle Convention Center Arch building, and it is the kind of con where the gaming hall and the workshops matter as much as the main stage. Panels, tabletop gaming, cosplay, and hands-on workshops fill the day, and the whole event has the welcoming, community-first energy that makes it a great first con. If you went on Saturday, Sunday is the slower, browsier day, which is the best day to actually play something. If you have never been, this is your nudge: go in the morning, meet people who love the same weird stuff you do, and save some energy for the tables.

Doors and details live on the GeekGirlCon site, and the con sits an easy trip from the shop, so the second stop is simple.

Stop two: Gundam Sunday at the shop, 1 PM

Our Gundam Sundays start at 1 PM, and they are built for exactly the player who just came from a con floor buzzing with ideas. The crowd is friendly, the games are welcoming to newer players, and nobody expects you to show up with a perfect deck. Bring what you have, borrow what you need, and learn the game by playing it. The shop is open Sunday from 1 PM to 8 PM, so there is plenty of room in the afternoon for a few rounds and a browse through the singles after. And if Gundam is not your game, the tables are still yours: bring a deck, bring a friend, or just come watch a round and see how the shop feels on a Sunday.

While you are here: Delta Reign prereleases keep rolling

Pokémon players, your weekend is still going too. Mega Evolution Delta Reign prereleases are running now at Play! Pokémon stores, and the updated event guide lists the window running through November 1. Build and Battle Boxes carry one of four foil promos, and a prerelease is still the most fun way to meet a new set, because everybody learns the cards at the same time. If you cracked packs on Saturday, Sunday is a fine day to bring what you pulled and see how it plays.

Full details on the shop calendar live at Drum Island Trading Co. events.
